Who It’s Best For
About the tool
Otto is a small always-on computer built to run AI agents, made by The Tokenry, Inc. It comes with Otto OS, a Linux-based system whose runtime is built on the open-source OpenClaw project. Your agents get their own computer, where they can use a browser and apps, work with files and write code, while chat history, files and agent memory stay on the device. You pair the device with your phone over NFC, with no terminal or coding needed, then chat with your agents, approve their actions and watch spending from the apps for iOS, Android and desktop. One device can run about 5 to 10 agents, for jobs such as customer support, research, store management, content or a personal assistant. Otto Gateway gives access to 23 cloud models from 8 providers, including Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok, and more than 2,000 app connections keep credentials encrypted on the device. Technical users can also connect over SSH. Otto One costs $599, or $799 with more memory and storage, and is sold as a preorder with a refundable deposit. Otto estimates that new orders will ship in January 2027, so you cannot use it right away. There is no subscription, but the Otto One does not run language models itself: you pay for cloud models from a prepaid balance or use your own API keys. Otto suits people who want an agent they control on their own hardware. It costs more up front than a cloud assistant, and you must be 18 or over to create an account.
