How We Curate AI Tools

Every AI tool on AITL is reviewed by our editor before it is listed. We check the official website, pricing, documentation and terms, test the product on a real task, and turn down tools that don't meet our criteria. Listings are re-checked over time, and payment never buys a listing, a review or a better description.

Who reviews the tools

Listings are researched and written by Marian Cojocaru, founder and editor of AITL. Vendors can suggest a tool through the submission form, but the decision to list it, and everything written about it, stays with the editor.

Our review process

  1. Discovery or submission. We find tools ourselves or receive them from vendors and readers.
  2. Source check. We read the official website, pricing page, documentation, privacy policy and terms. Facts such as pricing, free plans and integrations come from these official sources.
  3. Hands-on test. We create an account and try the product on a real task for its main use case.
  4. Classification. Each tool is mapped to a category, the use cases it handles, the roles it suits, its pricing model and its integrations, including Zapier, Make and Albato where available.
  5. Publication and re-checks. Once listed, tools are re-checked over time, and pricing or features are updated when they change.

What we look for

  • A real use for professional work. The tool solves a clear problem for marketers, developers, founders, sales, support, operations, recruiting or creative teams.
  • Transparent pricing. Plans are published, and any free plan or trial is stated clearly.
  • An identifiable company. There is a named business behind the product, with a privacy policy and terms of service.
  • A working product. It can be signed up for and used today, not only joined on a waitlist.
  • Fit with the rest of the stack. We note integrations and API access so you can see how the tool connects to your workflow.

Why we turn tools down

Not every submission is listed. We decline tools when, for example:

  • no company or owner can be identified;
  • pricing is missing, unclear or hidden behind a sign-up;
  • the product does not work, or is only a waitlist;
  • the marketing makes claims the product cannot support.

Keeping listings up to date

AI tools change fast. We re-check listed tools periodically and update pricing, features and integrations when they change. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will review it.

How AITL makes money

AITL is free to use. To keep it running, we earn money in two ways, and we want you to know exactly how.

Affiliate links

Some "Visit Website" links are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through one, AITL may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Outbound tool links are marked rel="sponsored". Whether a tool has an affiliate program does not affect whether it is listed or what we write about it.

Featured listings

Vendors can pay for a Featured placement. Featured tools get more visibility, such as a higher position and a "Featured" label. A Featured placement does not change the description, pros and cons, or any other editorial content, and Featured tools must pass the same review as every other listing.

What money can't buy

  • A listing for a tool that fails our criteria
  • A more positive description, or removal of cons
  • Changes to editorial content on request
