Who It’s Best For
About the tool
GeekLink is a desktop subtitle app for Apple Silicon Macs and 64-bit Windows. It covers three jobs: OCR extraction of subtitles that are burned into the video picture, speech-to-subtitle transcription for videos with no captions, and translation of subtitle files into 40+ languages. OCR and transcription run locally after their models download, so videos never leave your computer, and results open in a subtitle editor before you export SRT or TXT files or burn the subtitles into a new video. It is built for batch work, such as a whole anime or drama season, a course library or a creator channel, and can watch a folder and process new videos automatically. AI translation sends whole scenes to Claude, GPT-4o or DeepSeek for context, and can export bilingual subtitles. AI line-breaking re-splits long lines at natural points, and review flagging marks low-confidence words and music-covered segments so you only check the risky lines. On Mac, a built-in MCP connection lets Claude Desktop or Codex run the full workflow from one message. The free tier never expires: unlimited on-device transcription, editing, batch processing, SRT export, machine translation via Google or AWS (100,000 characters a month) and 60 minutes of OCR export each month. Full Pro costs $12.99 per month with 400 AI credits, $99 per year or $129 lifetime with 4,800 AI credits, and adds AI translation, unlimited OCR and watermark-free export. An OCR-only plan starts at $4.99 for 5 days, and every download includes a 7-day Pro trial with no sign-up.
